Heyy, my name is Lara, and I am a first-year student studying a joint English and Sociology degree. I am applying to be training sec for 2024/25! I have absolutely loved being a part of the gymnastics society this year and have made so many great friendships and memories through it – something which I’d hope to encourage if I was training sec. I started gymnastics at age 10 and instantly fell in love with it, and have competed in 50+ competitions since, placing 2nd in the London championships for tumbling!

I would love the opportunity to share my passion for the sport (as it is the best sport) with other members and will help people find their love for the sport again if they have lost it. Despite only being in the society for less than a year, I have got to know lots of the members well and would continue to do so if I were training sec. I am dedicated to training and competitions and have attended nearly every competition this year, a dedication which I intend to continue next year.

I have more than adequate knowledge of the sport through competing and through trainee gymnastics coaching for many years and helping my coaches and all the competitions throughout my last few years. Despite being a very stressed and anxious person, I give good advice (subjective perhaps…), so would be able to help anybody feeling stressed/nervous at training and competitions! I am also a very organised person and enjoy planning things and would make sure that all training sessions run exactly as they are meant to :).

Please vote for me even though I seem like a silly fresher, I promise I have my stuff together LOL. I also spent so long on my poster😹.
