Hi everyone! My name is Felicity Haslin, but you can call me Fliss. I’m running to be your next Social Sec on the Uni Boob Team! With my family having personally been affected by breast cancer, I learned the unfortunate fact that 1 in 7 females (AFAB) will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Men are not exempt either - hundreds of men are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK each year. Early diagnosis is a huge factor in ensuring a high quality of life, less brutal treatments and a better prognosis. This is why I’m extremely excited to be involved with UBT and Coppafeel this year. If elected as Social Secretary, my primary goal would be to organise fun and engaging events that will not only raise awareness about breast cancer but also bring the Uni Boob Team members closer together. To achieve this, I plan to work closely with society members to understand their needs and preferences to organise events that cater to everyone’s interests. Furthermore, I endeavour to widen the membership and campus awareness of the society by regularly hosting events that are open to all. With a social events ranging from informative awareness sessions, painting campaigns, pub quiz fundraisers to wholesome house parties, I’m confident that our members and committee will be able to spread the word across campus and beyond - and have the most fun doing it! I am a highly organised and detail-oriented individual who is committed to ensuring all events are planned and executed flawlessly. I understand the importance of effective communication, and I believe that regular updates and feedback from the team members are crucial to the success of any event. My three essential policies will be to: 1. Inform – about our society, Coppafeel, and breast cancer as a whole 2. Include – ensure our society is open to everyone, and that our events are too 3. Increase – more events, more drinking games, more funds raised, more awareness, more friendships.
