This Extraordinary General Meeting is to do the following:

1. Decide on next semester’s shows!

2. Decide on a First Year Representative!

3. Make any Constitutional Amendments!

‘First Year Rep’ is a role that gets added to the committee at the end of the first semester. Ironically you don’t need to be a first year student to apply, you just need to be new to MT!

Their job is to be a representative for all newbies to the society, pass any suggestions or issues they have onto the committee, and generally just be an additional friendly face. It is also a great opportunity to get a foot in the door on committee, to see how it works for future years.

Each candidate must give a speech of a maximum of 2 minutes telling the rest of the society why they’d be perfect for the role.

Each candidate must also find someone to be a ‘proposer’ and a ‘seconder’ for them.

Each of these people will, in turn, give a speech of a maximum of 1 minute explaining why they think the candidate would be perfect for the role.

Each society member can only be a proposer or a seconder for one other person, and I, as President, am constitutionally not allowed to propose or second anyone.

The rest of the society will vote anonymously for who they want to elect FYR. As with show proposal votes, there is also a RON option
