I’m Alice and I am excited to submit my candidacy for the position of Secretary for the Leeds Sustainability and Consultancy Society.

Currently, I am studying for a Master’s in Sustainability and Consultancy here at the University of Leeds. Combined with my experience as Environmental Affairs and Corporate Social Responsibility Assistant at Toyota’s UK headquarters, I have developed a solid understanding of sustainability issues and practical project management skills.

Given the opportunity, I’m eager to apply my previous experience, along with the skills and knowledge gained from my Master’s, to contribute effectively to the consultancy projects led by the society. With this in mind, I am committed to making a positive difference to my local community, both environmentally and socially. I am confident that my passion, experience and skills make me a strong candidate for the position of Secretary. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the society’s growth and success!

Hi everybody! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Marena. This is my 2nd year as a LSSC member and hopefully my 1st on the committee as Secretary.

I’m studying Sustainability and Environmental Management, and I plan to become a sustainability consultant. for an environmental nonprofit. I’ve been building my consultancy and leadership resume since high school.

In high school I
- Made a sustainable waste management plan for a neighbourhood
- Made a sustainable water management plan for a coastal city
- Presented those plans to city council members and environmental organisation experts

During my 1st year I worked on the
- Norlo (small fashion brand) project
- Herd Farm (recreation dock) project

I also have experience being a club founder and president where I
- Recruited over 20 active members within the first year
- Organized meetings, community service, and socials
- Led meeting discussions
- Sent out updates and reminders
- Handled member suggestions

My goals as LSSC Secretary would be to
- Collaborate with more non-environmental societies to better connect all aspects of sustainability on campus
- Keep documentation organised and easily accessible
- Inform members on projects, meetings, and socials
