Hi everyone! I’m Sajida and I would love to be your Events Secretary for 2026/27.

As a first year LLB Law student, Law Soc and the events it offers have been a really enjoyable part of my university experience so far. Some of the most memorable moments at university happen outside the lecture theatre, and I would love the opportunity to help organise events that are exciting, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone in the community.

Through my experiences promoting student events with Fresh2Death, helping organise a charity afternoon tea raising £350 for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, and volunteering within my local community, I have developed strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills that I would bring into this role.

If elected, I would aim to build on the success of the Law Society’s flagship events while remaining mindful of the practical considerations involved in organising them, including budgeting and ensuring events remain accessible and cost-effective for students. I would love to enhance Law’s Got Talent by creating a stronger “Talent Soirée” atmosphere that encourages more students to perform and celebrate each other’s talents. I would also aim to maintain and elevate the Law Ball, exploring creative yet cost-conscious ideas while ensuring it remains one of the highlights of the Law Society calendar.

Most importantly, I want Law Society events to feel welcoming and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my statement, and I hope you will consider voting for me.

Hi, I’m Charlotte and I am a first year Law with French Law student. I would love the opportunity to be Events Secretary for the Law Society as I genuinely enjoy organising events and I believe that social events are a really important part of uni life, helping people to feel more connected and involved within a society by bringing people together outside of lectures.
I have strong organisational and teamwork skills, along with a sharp eye for detail, which would help ensure events run smoothly and are well planned. I really enjoy working collaboratively as I have with past event-planning, so would look forward to working closely with the rest of the committee to organise events that are engaging, well-directed and enjoyable for all!
If elected, I would make it a priority to listen to all the members of the society to find out what people want to see in the events. By doing this, I hope we can make the events as appealing to as many members as possible to help make the law society an even more welcoming and active community. Hi my name is Tiarri and I am a 1st year student in the 2-year graduate law program. I’m originally from a small northern town in Canada, but decided I wanted a change of scenery for law school, and so far I am loving it.

I have a bachelors degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies, but a law degree has always been my goal. I like to say I’ve known I wanted to be a lawyer since the first time I watched legally blonde.

In my previous degree I ran a sorority and was on the board of an honours society. As such, I have a lot of event planning experience. I pride myself on being driven and organized. As well, I am detail oriented and very much a perfectionist. These are all skills that I will bring to this position if elected.

I am a second-year LLB student and the current Social Secretary of the Darts Society, with experience organising successful socials and working collaboratively within a committee. As Events Secretary, I would focus on delivering well-planned, inclusive and memorable Law Society events. This includes liaising early with venues to secure the best dates around academic commitments and religious festivals, seeking sponsorship to help subsidise ticket prices, and promoting events early to maximise attendance and preparation from acts. I would also work to involve students across all year groups and collaborate with other societies to increase engagement and fundraising opportunities. Building on successful traditions such as the Law Ball, I would introduce fresh ideas like new end of year celebrations while ensuring events remain affordable, widely attended, and well captured through photography and media.
