Hi, I’m Ify and I’m a 2nd Year Biological Science Student, you’ve probably seen me teaching salsa lessons once or twice! I’ve been completely obsessed with Salsa since I started learning in October last year and I’ve decided to run for President as I can’t think of a better way to be a more involved and give back to the community we’ve formed over the last year!

As many of you know, Salsa society has had to start from scratch this year due to COVID complications. The current committee has done a fantastic job, rebuilding the society, holding lessons and socials, in addition to creating an inclusive environment and I want to continue their work and create opportunities for our society to engage in Dance competitions and showcases next year, along with a couple trips to Salsa festivals for those interested!

Currently, our salsa lessons provide an amazing environment for Beginners/Intermediate salseros to practice and learn new routines. I aim to expand on this next by introducing separate classes for Beginner+ and Intermediate+, running at the same time. This will provide everyone with more time learning routines at their desired level. I will also increase the variety of classes, introducing more shine and musicality lessons.
