Hello everyone! I’m Sathvika and I’m an international student pursuing my first year of BA Business Management. I’m running for the role of Deputy CEO of the LUBS Soc for this academic year and I’m positive that my skills and experiences would be an asset. As an involved member of LUBS Soc, WILS and the Basketball Society, I understand the workings of the society and the execution of various professional and social events. I have been part of the organising committee of both MUNs and Farewells during high school which allows for more in-depth experience in planning ahead, conducting regular meetings, creating contingency plans and ensuring everyone on the committee is on track. Having a keen eye for detail, I believe I have a lot to offer in terms of organising the LUBS society events and the elections and bringing in innovative ideas based on feedback from members. I have also taken a lot of initiative with networking and participated in the Universities Business Challenge where I represented the university as a team (one of the top 10 finalists from over 200 teams) and took up the role of Student Ambassador as well. With the entire responsibility of managing the Book fair, I want to carry forward with the success from the previous year and bring in a lot more ideas with marketing and the variety of books available. I have participated in events to improve my public speaking skills and have given a few talks as well. This will allow me to be a great representative of the society during fresher’s week to widen its engagement. I have a strong interest to lead and will make sure to collaborate with the CEO and the rest of the committee to expand the opportunities and benefit each and every member of society. Hi I’m Milly, a first year Economics student.

Having been to most LUBS events from the start of the year, I’ve come to really enjoy being part of the society and also getting the opportunity to connect with people outside of my lectures.

I am currently a social secretary in the Japanese society which has given me an insight into how societies are organised. I have confidence in my communication and team working skills which will help me flourish in this role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
