Hi, I’m Sneha and I’m a first year undergraduate student perusing Economics and Finance. I'm interested in the role of Vice President of Equality and Diversity. Why? I've always appreciated culture, diversity, and celebrating uniqueness. As someone from a different country, I appreciate the desire to make the community more welcoming. Equality entails recognising everyone's individuality, while diversity entails knowing about many cultures and history. Being voted for this role reflects my compassion, innovation, and open-mindedness. I have vast experience in a wide range of positions, allowing me to understand cultural differences. My most valuable experience has come through mentoring several marginalised groups, including persons of colour, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those with disabilities.If elected as Vice President for Equality and Diversity, my primary responsibility will be to serve as the society's point of contact for all equity and diversity issues, ensuring that all members feel included and represented. Over the year, I will also assist to organise and host ED events like as a Fresher quiz, Pride social Pride panel, International Women's Day event, and bridge the gap event so everyone can feel included.
