Hi everyone, I'm Samuel and I would love to be your next dance rep

I've been a part of freestyle since first year doing their competition teams and have loved everything even the early wake ups. I've always been involved in dance in university if that's starting off as a complete beginner in salsa and street or joining moderns advanced contemp class this year and beyond campus I've done Nation Youth Dance Company in 22-23 giving me a professional understanding on the industry I can bring to the role.

A big part of being dance rep is being organised. From years of backstage volunteering to helping to organise and choreographing touring dance pieces I've understood that being organised is the most important factor for a successful event or piece. During my time on my secondary school's fundraising committee I also have an understanding of how manage budgets, meeting and how to sort logistic-heavy events. As being a computer science I hope to bring an analytical and digital view to the role and hope to make next year smooth sailing.
I have loved all the events over the last few years where all the societies come together like inter-comp, LUU show, fundraising events and especially dance ball so I hope to have more LUU events like this. I'm very excited for the idea of being able to organise them myself!

I'm a number 1 fan of the dance community. if you have ever seen me cheering at inter-comp or LUU show you would know how much I love each of one of our dance societies. I hope to build on Amelia's goal for more collaboration and relationships between dance societies as at the end of the day we love dance like pushing for people to try out other societies no matter their level.

I would also make sure that I'm a person that people can come up to and ask any questions or make suggestions as I believe that multiple perspectives are better than just one. I would also make sure to be that voice for dance within the union as the love for our societies are through the roof.
Dance has truly made a massive impact on my life in uni and I know that it did for everyone reading this and I would hope to follow in what Amelia has done this year continuing to make dance at uni an incredible thing.
