To be president of the psychology society would be something that I would love to do and take a lot of pride in. Having the opportunity to manage and grow the society so that it has even more to offer than it already does is something that excites me and leaves me feeling very optimistic for the future. As president, my top priority would be the putting the needs, wants and interests of others first, as these things are what I believe to be the most important aspects of having a successful society. Being a confident individual, I would not be afraid to voice and take action regarding your opinions and requests as i would want to do the best job I could possibly do as president of your society. With such a demanding course, it’s so important to me that this society is one that everyone feels they can belong to and feel at ease within. I would want this society to be one that people love and enjoy being a part of and I’d love to ensure it has something to offer for everyone who is a part of it. It would be a pleasure to take up such an important role and to be the person who can bring about further exciting opportunities for you all.

Hello, my name is Grace, and I am a first-year student studying psychology. So far, I have really enjoyed being at the University of Leeds and really appreciated how great PsycSoc has been for helping people to socialise- meeting like-minded people, adapting to the needs of the people within the society and including everyone who wants to be involved. My intentions as president would be to initially keep PsycSoc running similarly to how it has been run this year with lots of socials, then adapt depending on suggestions of society members and perhaps increase interaction among the society in a broader range of settings (if this is something that interests society members). I believe I am well fitted to the role as I have great team-working skills which I have displayed in my time working at McDonalds and acting with Project A at the theatre royal in Newcastle. I have also displayed great organisational skills working as a tutor for younger students. Additionally, I have recently signed up to work with Leeds Mind and I am awaiting to start. I would love to become more involved in PsycSoc and believe becoming president would be a fantastic way to do this. Thank you!
