السلام عليكم I’m Owais, currently a first-year Physics student and I’m running for the Publicity Officer role for 23/24. I have found being part of ISOC to be a massive blessing while integrating into university, referencing the dessert and dinner nights welcoming first years like myself. Being part of this supportive community has allowed me to build such beautiful friendships and experience university from a different perspective الحمد لله . Moreover, helping at charity events and seeing what the society does to support Muslim students has been heart-warming to see. Therefore, this has encouraged me to take on a role so I can provide my skills in order to further support the society. Coming from a tech background and experience with marketing specifically for e-commerce at my part-time job, I’d be best suited to offer my skills to the marketing team. Therefore, I’d like to put myself forward for the Publicity Officer role to increase engagement amongst current members as well as the wider university community. I understand the commitment this role requires to promote the society while working alongside other members of the marketing team. As part of this role, I’ll be attending committee meetings which I’m looking forward to as I’ll have the opportunity to communicate unique ideas to inspire the Muslim community on campus. جزاك اللهُ خيراً

Assalamu Aleikum everyone, my name is Maedeh, I am a second year Medical Biochemistry student and I am running to be the publicity officer for 23/24 In’Shaa’Allah. I have experience producing content for the Faculty of Biological Sciences and managing their social media platforms, so I hope to use my prior experience to serve the ISoc and increase the engagement of the society as well as student awareness of the events through creative content. Isoc has been a core part of my university experience and I’ve met so many of my close friends because of it. I think it’s really important for Muslim students to feel like they are part of a community that truly cares about them, and makes them feel seen and heard. I believe ISoc does this, which is why I want to be part of the team that provides students with this sense of belonging. Jzk :)
