As an advocate for human rights, I am excited to run for the position of Communications Officer. With a year of experience in administrative work such as managing emails, phone calls and scheduling, I will be able to ensure that our society runs smoothly. I believe that collaboration is key to gaining recognition, a way I will be able to boost our support is by communicating with other societies to come together for future fundraiser projects. I am committed to enhancing our communication channels to achieve my goal in creating an inclusive and vibrant environment by bringing a range of people together to make a lasting impact on our campus.

Hi , I am Charlie , I am a 4th year Philosophy, Politics, Economics student.

The reason you should back me for the role of communications officer at 4 fold

1. Prior experience, I have spent the last year working in the civil service where a core part of my responsibilities was to ensure people working on our project were all aware of the actions others had taken and were also aware of the reasons for various meeting and actions.
2. Long term experience in other societies, being a 4th year student I have worked with and been part of over 10 different societys meaning I still have the contacts needed to fulfil the second responsibility of this office , this includes philosophy society and the gryphon giving us an ability to work together on how to report on human rights abuses in the world.
3. Experience overlap, I am currently working as part of the RETAS refugee charity for my dissertation a core part of my job there is communicating to stakeholders why they should support our human rights work
4.depth of knowledge, over the course of my degree at least 60% of my modules have been in the human rights field either justifying why they should be followed or detailing the politics and systems which surround human rights, this allows me to communicate the details of a human rights crisis swiftly and in depth to members and also allows me to bring in new members who have interests in human rights crises not currently covered by amnesty.
