About Me
- I’m a second-year Biotechnology student.
- I joined Gymnastics in September having never done it before.
- I’ve always loved being involved in any kind of sport and choosing Gymnastics this year has been one of my favourite decisions.
- I'm really friendly, always smiling and I enjoy talking to and getting to know everyone.

Why I want to Run for Committee
- In the short time I’ve been part of the society and been involved with gymnastics, I have met some incredible people and grown to love the society and the sport.
- I want to continue making the society as welcoming and amazing as the current committee have made it.
- Both drinking and sober socials have been incredible throughout the year. I would be honoured to have the chance to carry - this onto next year by planning, organising, and leading even more great socials including the Christmas and summer ball.
- I will encourage more people to join the society so we can continually grow and create an even better environment for every member.
- Whilst on tour, I saw the effort put in to making it an unforgettable time despite the challenges faced. I hope to be able to do the same next year, even if it means not necessarily going with ilovetour.

What I can bring to the Committee
- Currently I am the social sec for my course, so in know the responsibilities that come with the role and being on a committee. Additionally, I already know, and regularly communicate with all the event reps from the various events companies in Leeds.
- I have lots of great ideas for potential socials and games for next year that will help continue the fun and friendly atmosphere that’s always present at the socials.
- I will make sure the socials are inclusive for anyone and everyone who wishes to come. I’ll do this through a mixture of sober socials and drinking socials. I will respect everyone’s boundaries and never make people do things they don’t want to or are uncomfortable with.
- Teamwork is vital so I will Support all other committee members by being organised, planning and effectively communicating my ideas in terms of socials and within other areas of the society in order to ensure everything runs smoothly.

HI, I'm Emily and I'm applying to be social secretary for the UOL gymnastics society 2022-23. I believe I am the right person for this position: I love the club and its members and I will try my hardest to make everyone welcome and have a great time. I'm aiming for inclusive socials that will turn heads and get our club known for being really good fun. Bring on next year!
