Hi! My name is Erika, my pronouns are she/her and I’m a first year Fine Art student at Leeds Arts University!

My art currently examines the rawness of the feminine body, the emotional experience of relationships and the stigmatisation of women’s sexuality. I love my degree, but in my spare time away from creating my art, I am also an avid crocheter, photographer, music enjoyer, writer, plant mum and clothes collector who loves to express myself through fashion.
I’m also fascinated by the natural world and I love sharing this through my photographs both online and occasionally through my art too.

And of course, I am incredibly passionate about improving the quality of sex education for people of all ages, especially young people.

Many, like myself, will have a first-hand experience of dealing with the damage caused by inadequate and non-inculsive sex education. Lack of proper sex education can leave lifelong scars, which is why I wanted to join Sexpression in the first place. I’d love to be a part of the committee as Social Media Officer in order to strengthen interactions within the society, as well as spread educational resources. I think that being present via online platforms is a key component to this.

I am currently a student representative for first year Fine Art at my university, which involves attending meetings and relaying feedback, alongside online admin and communication. I would hopefully be able to add a creative perspective to the role of Social Media Officer, allowing me to create infographics and event advertisements. As well as being a frequent social media user myself, hopefully I will be able to contribute positively to the role for these reasons. :)
