Hello!!!! My name is Phasit, and I’m a current first year student at Leeds University Business School. I’m excited to run for the role of Treasurer in the Leeds University Union because I’m passionate about responsible financial management and want to ensure our group’s funds are used efficiently, transparently, and for the benefit of all members.

My academic background has given me a solid foundation in financial principles, and I am eager to apply these skills in a real-world setting. I’m confident using spreadsheets, managing budgets, and I understand the importance of keeping accurate records and being transparent with financial decisions.

If elected I will:
^ Ensure all the communications are made between comitte.
^ Make the budgeting process more understandable and inclusive for all.
^ Seek funding opportunities and manage resources wisely to support our goals.

I am incredibly passionate about being Leeds Thai Society's Treasurer for the 2025/26 academic year. As a current student of Physics and Astronomy with Maths, I have developed strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills that I believe will contribute to the success of the society.

Throughout my studies, I have honed my ability to manage and analyse complex data using various programmes such as MSExcel and OriginLab with precision. I am confident that these skills, combined with my attention to detail, will allow me to maintain accurate financial records and ensure that the society’s funds are managed effectively and responsibly.

In addition to my academic background, I am passionate about being involved in university activities and socials, and have experience collaborating with peers on projects and always offering a helping hand during previous Thai Society events. And, having captained the Thai Society football team in multiple competitions, I possess the leadership and teamwork skills to ensure that the committee can work together effectively and in unison. I am eager to contribute to the smooth running of the society and support its goals by handling finances in a transparent and efficient manner.

Growing up in Leeds, I have many strong connections within this city's Thai community and businesses, which will also help with organising more exciting events for our members. Furthermore, I am fluent in Thai, so communication will never be an issue.

Sawatdee krub, everyone! My name is Onemai, and I’m a first-year Banking and Finance student from Bangkok Thailand. Since joining the Leeds Thai Society, I have truly appreciated how it builds a home away from home for Thai students, and I’m excited to apply for the role of Treasurer to help strengthen our community through effective financial management.

I bring direct experience in handling funds and budgeting. Previously, I founded and led The Business Club, a charity that successfully raised 18,000 baht (£414) through sales, with all proceeds donated to charitable causes. Over two years of running this initiative, I developed key skills in budget management, financial planning, and fundraising, alongside public speaking and creative problem-solving as the President.

Additionally, I gained hands-on financial experience as a summer intern at Bualuang Capital Asset Management (BCAP) in 2024. There, I worked on wealth management portfolios, conducted DCFF valuations, and presented stock pitches to senior asset managers. Managing client assets with a five-year time horizon taught me the importance of maximizing returns—a principle I will apply to the Thai Society’s budget, ensuring every baht is spent wisely to create bigger and better events.

If elected, my vision is to expand sponsorship opportunities, particularly with more restaurants, to increase our financial resources while maintaining cost efficiency without sacrificing quality.
With my experience in budgeting, fundraising, and financial planning, I am confident that I can help the Leeds Thai Society grow stronger than ever. I’d be honored to serve as your Treasurer—thank you, and I hope for your support!
