In terms of member recruitment, they will need to help organise and run training sessions, organise and seek recruitment opportunities such as hosting stalls at the Volunteering Fayre and Open Days. Finally, they will need to encourage trainees to complete the training programme and assist with committee responsibilities such as organising events.”

The Recruitment Officer (RO) has two major jobs. Ensure a steady flow of volunteers into the charity as needed and work with other members of the committee, such as the Wellbeing Officers, to encourage members to move from training to actively participating in events.

Firstly, in terms of recruitment, they are expected to proactively find recruitment opportunities and encourage volunteers from a range of different sources. This should include the university, students, cosplayers, different universities etc. In order to do this, they should liaison with key people in these areas and seek out and pursue opportunities for advertising/recruitment such as open days/fayres. They will then need to organise and help run these opportunities such as the Medical School Open Days and Volunteering Fayre.

Secondly, as a part of recruitment, once volunteers have registered, they should utilise the Database to see how far through training various members are. They should then directly encourage members to complete their training as quickly as possible and implement schemes to help them to do that. Encouraging engagement is a recommended way of doing this. You should also keep a close eye on the database and should any volunteers start the process (such as filling in the registration and training but not safeguarding or just registration form and stopping for a few weeks), you should message them to identify if there are any issues and encourage them to complete the process. Numbers of fully green (qualified) volunteers will be monitored to determine flow. Finally, help might be needed in ordering training sessions.
