Only active members of Pool and Snooker can vote in this election

Being President of the Pool and Snooker Society is genuinely one of the best things about being part of this society. You get to lead an amazing group of people, play a central role in everything the society does, and help shape where it goes next. It's a big responsibility, but it's an incredibly rewarding one.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Keeping the committee coordinated and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
  • Representing the society externally, whether that's with Northern, the UPC, sponsors, or other partners.
  • Working with the committee to set the direction of the society and push it forward.
  • Being the public face of the society, at events, in communications, and everywhere in between.

More than anything, this role is about serving the society and the people in it. The committee does incredible work, and the President's job is to support that, bring it all together, and make sure the society continues to grow and thrive.

Skills required:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to bring people together.
  • A healthy dose of ego (you're going to need it).
  • Pool and snooker ability (non-negotiable).

General committee expectations:

  • To be an active member of the society, i.e. attending regular sessions and socials.
  • To set a good example* of behaviour, both online and in person.
  • To work with the committee members to organise events and general society stuff.

For more details, feel free to reach out to Birav Mehta.

*Terms and conditions apply. "Good example" is defined loosely and at the President's discretion. The society accepts no liability for any crashouts, dramatic neat whiskey consumption, or general head loss incidents. Some crashouts may occur. That is normal. Part of leadership and all that.
