Assalamu Alaikum. My name is Moeez Ishtiaq, I am currently a first-year Chemical Engineering student, and I seek to be your Social Secretary for the University of Leeds Islamic Society. Through the last year I have had the joy to attend many of the wonderful events run by the Islamic society and have met many brothers from different and similar courses and backgrounds. I believe these events are integral to the university as the Islamic society is only society who is able to run events without free mixing of genders which is a necessity for many brothers and sisters on campus. By running for this role I wish to be apart in providing these necessities to the community and ensure new and existing members of the university and the Islamic society are able to experience the events I was and be able to integrate into the university life in the halal way. Through my role I want to leave a positive and lasting effect on the society and enrich the events and social events run by the society. My name is Youssef Hanly and I am a 4th year Arabic and Islamic Studies student.

I have very much enjoyed my time thus far at the University's ISOC particularly because of the great socials that are often hosted throughout the year. During the academic year, I often found myself participating and helping out however possible and now I would like to put myself forward for a position where I can give back to this wonderful community in an attempt to rejuvenate and maintain the sense of Islamic brotherhood here at ISOC.

Going into my final year here at the university inshallah, I find myself in a strong position to give helpful advice to newcomers and I plan to engage in more dawah opportunities to inshallah increase our numbers as well as fun sport and quiz socials to keep teamwork and rivalry alive.

May Allah grant ISOC success this upcoming academic year ameen.
