‎السلام عليكم, my name is Sarah and I’m a 3rd year medical student.
Throughout my time at University, ISoc has been a huge support, whether it was the educational talks, the social events where I met many great sisters or the weekly sister halaqas.
Being education sister last year taught me a lot about how ISoc runs but more importantly instilled within me skills necessary such as organisation, time management and leadership. I really enjoyed the role and I am grateful to have been able to help the ISoc host great educational talks and events. One of the things I co-ran was the weekly sisters halaqah, which was a great opportunity that allowed me to meet so many amazing sisters. As the VP sister of ISoc, my main aims will be to build on the sisterhood at Leeds through regular social events. I also aim to work closely with the education team to continue to make the events Islam focused. My main priority will be to listen to the voice of Muslim students on campus and work on providing events that suit them. I understand this role is a huge responsibility and I am prepared to take it on with an optimistic mindset.
