Hello! My name is Rae (they/them) and I am a final year Ancient History and History who is very excited to be coming back after a year out to make my long-awaited return to LSR! I don't know about you but I think there's nothing better to help you relax than listen to a good podcast, I always have one of them on the background when Im going about my day so I think I'd be perfect for this role! Willow did such an amazing job running so many podcasts last year so I definitely have big shoes to fill but I think Im up to the task! Firstly, I have plenty of LSR experience, having once done five shows in a single semester! This shows I can deal with the big workload this sort of job requires. I have also been running my own podcast from my bedroom so I know a lot about how to advertise podcasts and get them off the ground. In terms of my policies and priorities they would be as follows: 1.) As this is a very new role - I would be only the second person appointed to this position if I am successful - my number 1 priority is trying to continue the success of last year and trying to emphasize the importance and advantages of the role so that such a key role can continue! 2.) Get as many podcasts going as possible. Last year we managed to get 25 podcasts out during semester 2 which was amazing and maybe I'm being a little bit ambitious but I think we can get even more! 3.) Diversify the content. We had some amazing shows on last year with some really unique and interesting ideas and I want more of that! The best thing about podcasts is that they can be about literally anything, and yet they still end up being pretty interesting, so if you have any ideas, or maybe some sections that you think wouldn't necessarily work for your core shows but could still make for amazing content, then maybe turn into a podcast that can go out on LSR! Whilst I am sure there are plenty of amazing candidates I really hope you will consider voting for me for head of Podcasting this year! Rae :)
