Hey I’m Tessa, a 3rd year medical student and I would love to be part of the MSF committee. It is an organisation I have a lot of respect for and aspire to work for in the future!

I am specifically applying for events rep as I have a lot of different ideas of possible ways to raise money and get people involved.

Last year, I completed the students without borders qualification to enable me to be able to work for this organisation in french speaking countries in the future. I also plan to intercalate in global health, so being in this society would complement my interest in this field of medicine.

Having been a member for 2 years now and attending the amazing events put on, I would love to be part of this committee!

Hello everyone, my name is Marina Costa, and I am keen on becoming next year's Events Rep!
This is such an important society that needs people's support, awareness and engagement to be able to share its work, so it is very necessary that good and organised events are run regularly, and I want to take on that role.
I would be very excited to work alongside like-minded students who have a passion about global health and are enthusiastic about bringing attention on current events.
I have been a student ambassador in high school and sixth form which allowed be to organise events such as culture day, science day and many fundraisers for different charities such as Simon on the streets and Children in Need.
More recently, I have been pre-clinical rep for the Oncology Society for the year 22/23 which allowed me to get involved in organising events such as "how to write academic cv" and "day in the life of an oncologist".
I have been, along the years, expanding vital skills, such as time and money management, organisation skills, problem-solving and good communication. I am also very hardworking, reliable, optimistic and a good team player which make me fit for this role.
If I am elected, I would like to continue the famous fundraisers, movie nights, discussions and talks about current affairs and what is like to work in MSF. I would like to work with other societies and if possible other universities to take the discussions and awareness to a national level.
In times of current endemics and just coming back to normal from a pandemic, political division, climate crisis and science denialism, I really hope I get to work with a group of students who are eager to work and talk about real issues and build a strong community.

Hi! I'm Maisha and would love to be the Events Rep for Leeds Friends of MSF. I have a really big interest in global health and humanitarian aid and think this role would be ideal for me because of my skills in raising awareness and fundraising. I have a lot of experience in fundraising for charities both voluntarily and for work, and think coordinating some really fun events, with input from the people who would be attending, would be a great way to do both.
