To those who don't know me Hi I am Charlie aldous and I would like to be your Vice President.

As to why I believe you should select me for this role I have two strong reasons.

Firstly my prior experience prior to this application I worked as events coordinator for Devonshire hall in first year this gave me an instinctive grasp of how to keep on top of events and organise for other people sometimes.

The second area I believe makes me suited for this role is personality and temperament as I am organised, hyper active when work needs doing and naturally able to work as a leaders seconds.

Hopefully I have convinced you that I would be a good fit for the job.

Hi all, I am Anthony and I would like to run for the Vice President position for next year’s committee. I believe I am a suitable candidate for this position and I would really love another chance to keep working for the club and our members.

Having held the position of secretary and working alongside the committee for the last academic year I have gained insight into what the club can do better to accommodate beginners and how to integrate them with experienced fencers to create a more homogenous and inclusive environment. The main issue of the club as of now is that there is an invisible wall dividing the beginners and the intermediate/experienced fencers. Although efforts have been made to shrink the gap, the issue still persists. With the experience I have obtained I would like to get a chance to solve this lasting issue of the club by making changes to our beginners program from collaborating more with our coach to introducing regular mentoring with experienced fencers so that beginners would get more feedback.

Another thing I would like to introduce, or rather bring back, is the Leeds Open. In the past before covid, we as a club used to run open the Leeds Open which brought invaluable funding that was used to purchase more club equipment so as to make the transition from steam to electric fencing more accessible as this process is held back by insufficient electric kit and pistes. With the extra funds from running the Leeds Open, we will be able to make more such purchases and streamline the progression of beginners which gives a better beginner experience.
