Hi, my name is Alex and I would love to be the social media secretary for Access to Medicine this year! After struggling myself when applying to medicine with a lack of access and contacts to get work experience during the pandemic and no guidance with the admissions tests or MMIs, I know how important it is to get good guidance and advice on how to increase your chances of being successful. I spent a long time trawling through online forums and YouTube videos to find the best advice and I wish there was a society like Access to Medicine to help me when I was applying! I am very organised (google calendar is my life) and I think I would be great at keeping up to date with a social media schedule that keeps everyone informed of up-and-coming events and deadlines.

Hi everyone! I’m Immy, a fourth year medical. student currently intercalating in Neuroscience at King’s College London. I am rerunning for Social Media Secretary as I believe our platforms should do more than just inform—they should engage, empower, and represent every aspiring medic who interacts with us.

I’ve been involved with Access to Medicine since its very first year, helping to shape and grow the social media accounts from the ground up. Two years on, I’d love to continue that journey as co-social media sec, working to build a presence that’s inclusive and engaging. Beyond this, I also ran the social media for the National Student Psychiatry Conference 2025, where I created Instagram content, TikToks, the logo, and the full conference brochure. Similarly, I ran the social media account for the Leeds Medics Halfway Ball 2024, creating posts, designing the tickets & seating plan, and managing outreach. I also designed the logo for the Leeds LGBTQIA+ Healthcare Society, combining my creative skills with my passion for equity in healthcare.

If re-elected, I want to make our social media even more accessible and inclusive—adding descriptive image text and alternative captions to support all users, and sharing content that reflects the diverse identities and experiences of those we serve. I’m especially passionate about LGBTQIA+ inclusion in medicine, and I believe our platforms should represent everyone.

I’ve seen how Access to Medicine has started to support aspiring medics from the ground up, and it’s been incredible to watch the society grow. I’d love the opportunity to continue this and reach even more students who may not otherwise see a path into medicine. Thank you

I am excited to get further involved with Access to Medicine this year as I want to contribute to the outreach of the society in its effort to widen participation in medicine. I’m excited to be running for Publicity and Social Media Secretary for the Access to Medicine committee 2025-2026.

As someone passionate about widening participation I believe that a strong online presence is key to connecting with students, sharing opportunities and therefore making as big an impact as possible.

With experience in content creation and managing social media platforms (as the co-social media sec on last year's committee), I’m confident in my ability to keep our channels active, engaging, and informative. I aim to create content that’s not only helpful but also uplifting and inclusive - we were voted the most inclusive society after all :)
