Coming from an underprivileged background, I understand the challenges faced by prospective students when applying to medical school and also during their time here. I believe lots more can be done for this demographic of student, and during my time as treasurer, I helped guide mock OSCEs, and communicated with different departments to ensure funds were allocated for events. As president, I aim to transfer these skills into this role in order to aid students access support faster and more effectively.

I have been a part of the A2M team for 2 years: starting as the first year rep and now the secretary. Throughout this time, I have created our monthly newsletter, ran the fresher's fair stall and attended every meeting, chairing one last summer. As the only medicine applicant from my school in Newcastle, I have an understanding of the struggles many aspiring medics face, and a strong belief in the goals of this society. As our President next year, I aim to build on the strong foundations we've created together and continue to widen participation to our course.
