The Sports Secretary is the energetic and enthusiastic coordinator of all sports and physical wellbeing activities within the society. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about sports, team spirit, and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle among civil engineering students.
As Sports Secretary, you will:
- Plan and organise sports events for the society, including friendly matches, inter-society tournaments, training sessions, and informal games like football, netball, or badminton.
- Coordinate participation in LUU leagues or competitions, ensuring teams are registered, fixtures are communicated, and members are informed of venues and timings.
- Promote inclusivity in sports, encouraging students of all skill levels and backgrounds to get involved in physical activities—whether competitive or just for fun.
- Collaborate with other societies to arrange joint sports events or tournaments, helping to build connections across the university.
- Manage sports equipment and uniforms, including storage, purchases, and ensuring everything is in good condition and accounted for.
- Work with the Treasurer to budget for sports-related expenses and submit funding applications or sponsorship proposals when needed.
- Capture moments from events, coordinating with the Social Media or Marketing Officer to showcase sports highlights and boost engagement online.
- Encourage wellness and team spirit, helping strengthen the sense of community within the society through regular physical activities.
This is a fantastic role if you enjoy organising events, working with teams, and fostering a culture of fun, fitness, and camaraderie. You’ll gain experience in event management, team coordination, and leadership—while having a lot of fun along the way.
