The Events Officer is the mastermind behind the society’s activities calendar, responsible for planning and delivering a diverse range of events that bring members together socially, academically, and professionally. This role is perfect for someone who is organised, creative, and passionate about creating memorable experiences.

As Events Officer, you will:

• Plan and coordinate a wide variety of events, including social gatherings, academic workshops, networking sessions, career talks, industry visits, and collaborative events with other societies.
• Lead the end-to-end organisation of events, from brainstorming themes and booking venues to arranging logistics, catering, and technical support.
• Work closely with other committee members, especially the Treasurer (for budgeting), Social Media Officer (for promotion), and the President (for approvals and planning support).
• Manage event timelines and task lists, ensuring that everything runs smoothly on the day and all committee members know their roles.
• Source speakers, hosts, and collaborators, reaching out to industry professionals, lecturers, or alumni when relevant.
• Ensure inclusivity and variety, offering a balanced mix of academic, professional, and purely social events to appeal to all members.
• Collect feedback after events, using surveys or informal feedback to improve future events and tailor them to members’ preferences.
• Explore new and exciting ideas, bringing creativity and enthusiasm to the society’s calendar while keeping things fresh and engaging.
