Hey there BPM fam!

It's been half a year since I first dipped my toes into the waters of our society, and boy, what a ride it's been! From grooving at workshops to spinning tunes at open decks, I've truly found my rhythm within our community. It's not just about the music though; it's about the vibes, the connections, the shared euphoria that keeps us coming back for more, and the personal and professional growth it has sparked in me.

As I gear up to graduate this year, I'm excited to bring my dedication and time to give back to the society that's given me so much. Stepping into the ring for the Events Manager role, I'm not just seeking a job – I'm looking to elevate our collective experience. Let's talk about curating socials and events that aren't just gatherings, but transformative experiences where every member feels like family. Together with the committee, I'm ready to dive headfirst into crafting moments that we'll be reminiscing about for years to come, all while keeping the BPM spirit alive and kicking. Let's make some magic happen!

Thanks to the safe space and support from the BPM community, I've not only honed my skills but also gained the confidence to pursue my passion outside these walls. Landing my first gig was a significant milestone for me, and I attribute a large part of that success to the encouragement and opportunities provided by our society. Furthermore, I'm committed to spotlighting our society within the broader electronic music and DJing industry. I plan to leverage my growing network and connections to establish partnerships, secure performance opportunities for our members, and showcase the talent and vibrancy of our community.

As someone who absolutely adores dance music, particularly DnB and Jungle, to the point of obsession, I felt right at home when I went to my first ever BPMSoc social and freely yapped away. Since joining BPMSoc, I have developed my mixing skills from being an absolute rookie terrified at the prospects of performing to feeling fairly comfortable behind most decks and desperate to get to play every two weeks at Open Decks. With my development as a DJ, experience as vice-president of debate and social secretary of the Leeds Think Tank and my love to party, share and listen to banging music, I feel the role of events manager would be a great way to give back to this community I can proudly say I feel a part of.

As events manager, I will endeavour to work with the rest of the team to maintain the inclusivity of open decks. A beginner DJ, I equally want to further encourage new members to break the seal and give it a go - the first time is always the hardest.

I also aspire to focus on further integrating BPMSoc into the Leeds scene, getting in contact with organisers and venues in order to get student DJs in our society out there and behind the decks at venues, making our society a multi-genre student-led organiser (ambition king).

Branching out and focusing on more socials would also be great. Many students love dance music but lack a social group which shares this passion - BPMSoc should focus more on providing this: rave friends are important!!!
