Hey everyone, I'm Sidney, and I'm excited to apply for the Treasurer position. With a blend of financial acumen and a passion for music, I'm ready to take the BPM Society to new heights.
I have already got some financial management experience from freelance work with an architecture firm to managing my own pirate radio station from home. Currently studying Nuclear Engineering with a couple maths A Levels in the bag, I've honed my skills in budgeting and financial planning.
Music has always been in my blood. Born into a family of athletes and musicians, I've chosen to follow my passion for beats over running marathons. My DJ style blends Brazilian Funk House with Techno and Dark Trance, creating a unique sound I like to call Filth. With over 1,000 Djing tunes memorized (seriously try me) as well as 13,000 Lo-Fi tunes in my collection, I've curated and reviewed an excessive amount for my YouTube livestreams, as well as producing French Lo-Fi reaching an audience of over 100,000 music enthusiasts worldwide.
I've held key leadership roles in various committees, from Head of Evenings at LSR, where I organized DJ events and managed a team of DJs, to Head of Tech, overseeing the upgrade of audio equipment for a better listening experience as well as an upgrade to an entire studio. As Events Manager for LXRS, I helped organize a VR event that attracted 250 attendees (max capacity was 60), demonstrating my ability to turn ideas into successful ventures (maybe a little too well)
I envision a BPM Society that not only fosters musical talent but also gives back to the community. I'll spearhead charity events to raise funds for worthy causes while providing world-class music entertainment. I believe every member has untapped potential, and I'm committed to creating opportunities for growth and success within the society, whether that be from gig opportunities to spreading more online content to grow.
Anther aspect in which I feel growth is necessary, expanding the reach of BPM Society to new members. There are countless students eager to spin decks who may not even know we exist. I'll work tirelessly with the committee to increase our visibility and attract new talent to our society.
