The society got me super stoked for climbing and reignited my passion for the sport. I found some of my closest friends. My main ambition as president would be to inspire the same passion in others keen on the sport and keep the society a place where people can find a like minded family. Committee has done such an amazing job this year when it comes to inclusivity and organisation of socials and trips. So at the very least we plan to do as well as they did. I'm going to work on having more 'wholesome' non-drinking culture socials throughout the year like pot painting. The society brings in people that have a general love for the outdoors, so I want to organise mountaineering trips that aren't limited to climbing. My committee and I will work out and plan these trips after the exchange event once we have a full understanding of how the club runs.

I've been an active member of the club for the last year and am super passionate about climbing! This years committee have done such a good job at getting so many people so psyched for climbing and the club does such a great job at introducing people with an interest in the outdoors. Before uni I'd done a lot of sport climbing, but the club has helped me gain competency in trad - I firmly believe in the club giving people that opportunity to safely learn those mountaineering skills.
As president I will push to bring more mountaineering to the club and want to inspire even more people to try the sport. I am really organised and outgoing, and love meeting new people. I hope these skills will enable me to be a friendly face to new-comers and will enable me to ensure we continue to offer varied and exciting events in the coming year!
