Being as actively involved in politics as we are can be incredibly emotionally intensive, this officer would be a first point of contact for society members should they need support or have any welfare concerns.
this role includes:
- in charge of welfare-specific initiatives, such as drop ins or wellbeing activities and socials
- champion good practice within the society
- set up welfare drop-ins or regular wellbeing activities
- be a welcoming and supportive member of committee
- be in charge of risk assessments for events to ensure member welfare is always considered
