Hey gang, it’s Callie!
As events officer in the next year, I intend to run a social (at least) every two weeks! That could be anything from bowling, to board games, to the much loved laser tag from previous years, to the ever elusive Backstage D&D… I’ll send out regular feedback forms where people can tell me what events they’d like to see next!
In addition to that, I want to work closely with PMs to organise more varied crew socials during and in the run up to show weeks! Design team meals have had a resurgence this year thanks to Ally’s hard work and I want to make sure that sticks around, as well as pushing for more variety in society nights out! (RIP Fruity)
Finally, I want to organise more society trips to see theatre in and around Leeds - whether that’s other societies’ shows, little studio shows in town or big touring musicals at the Grand! Where possible, I’ll also see about getting us backstage tours so we can get into the guts of how things work in real, purpose built theatres!

Hi, my name is Sophie and I’m running for Events Officer because I really enjoy the socials with Backstage! As a new member of BSS, I have loved getting to know everyone over the past year and want to host some new events to make sure all members feel welcome.

As Events Officer, I would like to host some more sober and daytime socials, and think I would bring a fresh perspective to the committee! I will definitely uphold our traditional weekly Fruity and old bar trip but I also have a lot of fun ideas for the upcoming year. For example, a backstage brunch or going to see other theatre productions being held in uni and around Leeds. I will always be open to any suggestions or recommendations from members and will be closely working with the publicity and welfare officers to make sure all members are aware of any of the events going on!
