Hi, I’m Kating! I’m running for the position of PR Officer in the Kpop Dance Society.

I would like to run for this position as I want to be more proactive within the club. I understand that this role entails one to cultivate skills such as communication, organisation, creativity and teamwork.

Having held positions of responsibility in the past, I have had experience working with others to organise various events. My experiences include being part of the prefect team and the design team of school events. Through my previous experiences, I was able to work with different people to solve a problem and gain different perspectives at the same time. This has allowed me to develop my teamwork and communication skills, which would make me suitable for the role as the role requires one to work with the committee and interact with the club members often. As a law student, I have developed time management and organisation skills, which would be useful for the role as I am able to make time to commit to my role. Being in the society has motivated me to improve my dance skills and come out of my comfort zone, which is why I would like and plan to be more active in the club and apply for this position.

If elected for the role, I can promise transparency within the society - by overseeing the member’s queries and helping the committee respond to external queries as efficiently as possible. I hope to be able to bridge the gap between the committee and KDS members through existing socials and ensure that the society will be able to provide a safe space for everyone - as I would like to encourage and welcome new people into the society as well.

Hi everyone, I am Alvis, a third-year Communication and Media student, and I will be running for Public Relations Officer for KDS next year. The reason that I am applying for this committee position is after last year's experience in KDS, I have built up a huge sense of belonging to the society, and I hope to use my skills and experience to contribute to KDS. I have joined KDS since my first year. Starting from my first showcase two years ago, to this year joining intercomp, showcase, core group and nationals, I had enjoyed myself throughout this journey as a member of KDS. I have improved a lot in dancing, gained confidence, and also made a lot of friends with whom we had fun and precious memories of us dancing and hanging out together.

So how am I capable of being the Public Relations Officer for KDS? For my dancing experience, I had various dance shows experience in Hong Kong, and winning champion in my secondary school’s internal talent quest. In university, I joined KDS’s intercomp, showcase and nationals, and won 3rd place in the national’s competition. I am also one of the core group members this year, being a part of the demo team in tutorials. For my committee position, I had a similar experience in the past, such as working as a Promotion and Design Team Head in a campfire event, being a member of the Students’ Union to hold various events at school, and being External Vice President for LUUHKS during my second year. I gained and learnt a lot from these experiences, which made me a team player and a good communicator in a team. I also study communication and media studies, giving me enough knowledge about social media and media designs, which can be a huge benefit for KDS.

If I have a chance to be the Public Relations Officer for KDS, as committee I aim to create a friendly and fun atmosphere for the members. I also aim to create beautiful and awesome designs for the KDS social media, thus giving KDS more exposure on Instagram to reach more potential members to join our future events. I really hope I have the chance to work as committee next year for KDS, so please support and vote for me and I hope to dance with you all next year!

Hi my name is Qiutong Wu, you can call me Allen. I’m currently studying business management, entering the final year. I’ve start following K-pop since I was in elementary school , more specifically, when EXO debuted.

The reason that I want to run for Public Relation officers could be described as below: 1)I am very proud of being a KDS member, would love to bring more lovely people to KDS; 2)helping people, answering people’s question could bring me huge sense of achievement, which make me feel needed and satisfied; 3)I am more than happy to contribute myself to this society that change my university life, from enjoying it to help running it, bring more happiness to the others.
Joining KDS is one of the most proper things I have done. It dragged me out from down moods caused by pandemic and loneliness. To be honest, I often regretted that I joined so late, but luckily it becomes a part of my university’s life and memories that I will revise it in my whole life. I’ve met so many friendly warm cute people in KDS. I was been told that dance is professional skills, can only be performed by talented dancer. But not now anymore. As long as I am with my friends, no matter what we dance, it’s filled with happiness.
