Hey! I’m Chloe - I’ve been part of the BSL Society for the last year and it’s become a HUGE part of my uni experience… which consists primarily of social events and little of uni work. In the words of Rahim: “If Chloe’s degree was in partying… she would easily get a 1st”. But never fear, whilst I love a good boogie on a night out, I’m a social butterfly in many more areas and as social sec would love to organise a vast array of events… just a few ideas I’ve had include:
Hiring out a room in the uni, bringing snacks and watching “Sign 2 Win” together; a popular BSL Zone game show from which you’ll recognise some of the games we play at sign class!
Trip to a local farm so we can learn animal related signs… and pet some super cute animals
Otley Run… but we all dress up as “Blue Shirt Man” from the BSL Dictionary App - if you haven’t downloaded it already, download “Sign BSL” from the App Store to learn more signs from our favourite, ironically grey-shirt-wearing, Blue Shirt Man.
Of course, I’d look forward to ensuring we upkeep our popular “BSL Cafe”, as well as being open to social suggestions from our members!
With all that being said: aid me in proving that Computer Science student’s do leave their bedrooms… and vote for me for social sec!
