EngSoc Edinburgh trip - supplemental FAQ

How much does the trip cost?

£60 total.

When is the trip happening?

Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th, and Monday 28th of March.

There's no deposit ticket! What do I do?

If you read the event post closely, you will see that it states tickets have not yet been released. We will let you know in the coming days when the deposit tickets will be available for purchase.

How do I keep up to date?

Please keep taps on our Facebook and Instagram for updates. Alternatively, you may wish to join our Members-Only Whatsapp Group (link in weekly emails).

Do I have to be a member to go on the trip?

Yes, this trip is for members of English Society only.

Who is allowed to be a member?

Anyone! We especially welcome anyone with an interest in English Literature, Language, Poetry, Theatre, or Creative Writing! Many of our members study English, but you don't have to study English to be a member of English Society.

How do I become a member?

You need to buy our Standard Membership available here.

How do I guarantee a spot on the trip?

You can't, unfortunately. Spaces will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Can my friend come?

They will need to buy their own membership and ticket. It's each person's own responsibility to try to get the ticket when it is released.

Can I be added to the WhatsApp Group?

Yes, once you have purchased a membership, you will begin to receive our Weekly Emails (written by our lovely Publicity Officer, Ruby) and the link will be in the emails. Alternatively, if you've bought the membership recently or haven't been aware of the WhatsApp group, please email me (ml19pl@leeds.ac.uk) to be sent the link. I'll need you to send me a screenshot of your membership to show me you're a member, so don't forget to add the image!

Will accommodation be provided?

Yes, if you come on the trip you will have a place to stay at the hostel we have booked. Due to health and safety reasons, we cannot allow you to book alternative arrangements. Please do not book your own accommodation unless you are planning to go to Edinburgh yourself as we cannot be held accountable for external arrangements.

What happens if I don't get a place?

We will open a waiting list shortly after tickets are released. If you don't manage to pay the deposit, you can get one of our limited waiting list places and we will contact you if a place becomes available.

I have more questions!

Please email our Treasurer, Pearl, at ml19pl@leeds.ac.uk

Thanks!
