Almscliff Bouldering and Learn To Trad Day Trip

This day trip will be happening on Sunday 1st Decemeber 2024! On this day trip we will be running a Learn to Trad session from 10:30am to 1:30pm and bouldering throughout the day.

In the Learn to Trad session, we will be teaching:

  • Gear placement
  • Anchor building
  • Movement on rock
  • Rope Managment

To sign up for the Trad session you must be a compentent lead belayer and climber, as well as having climbed outdoors before (whether this is bouldering or seconding).

For the bouldering, the only prerequisite is that you have bouldered indoor before! We will have multiple boulders of all grade ranges set up that will rotate throughout the day.

For this trip we will be meeting at Burley Park Station at 8:55am to catch the 9:10am train to Weeton. We will then walk up to the crag, aiming to be there by 10:10am. We will be heading back to Leeds once it starts to get dark, but if you want to leave earlier feel free!
